Marjoram
Usage: Sprinkle marjoram leaves over your favorite pizza or pasta dish. Garnish any savory entree, especially tomato-based dishes. Include in a home-made salad dressing or use to flavor soups and sauces. This herb pairs well with basil, cumin, paprika and rosemary. Add marjoram at the end of the cooking process.
Storage: Store like a fresh-picked flower. Snip off the fibrous end of the stems and put in a glass or jar with water at the bottom. This herb wilts fast, although this doesn’t affect its flavor. Try to use within 3-5 days. Another way to store marjoram is to wrap the whole plant in a damp tea towel and keep in the refrigerator. This preserves its moisture and prevents wilting. One of the best ways to store marjoram is to dry its leaves! Pluck off the leaves and put in an open bowl in the refrigerator. Stir the leaves daily for 5-7 days or until dried.
