Tomatoes

Usage: Make a caprese on toast with fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic. Put into a cobb salad or make a home-made pasta sauce by chopping the tomatoes and pan-heating with herbs and garlic from your CSA box.

Storage: Store at room temperature! The refrigerator tends to make tomatoes mealy. Tomatoes also continue to ripen after they are harvested, so they will continue to become red on your kitchen counter if they are green or orange. Store heirloom tomatoes with cracks upside down so they can drain their juice and avoid spoilage. Use within one week once they are ripe.
